about

Electric Church was the first group that I formed alone, without my old friends’ help, during the last days of May 2005. It was one of my dreams to make a super trio and play blues and Hendrix’s songs.
So one night I was in a bar called Ziggy and I met John (the bass player). John used to live next to my house but I hadn’t met him many times. So we started talking about music. Also Nick (Drummer) came this night (Nick was playing with a good friend) and we started talking about making a group and play blues. John had just completed his army service and had a lot of time and passion to play the bass.
The first jam took place at my home (of course without Nick). The first songs that we started playing were classic old blues, some Hendrix and our first own composition “Blue Wild Angel” which was dedicated to the spirit of Jimi Hendrix.
The band recorded two demos. The first was a very quick recording. I remembered that we finished the mix in 6 hours….This CD has only four tracks. Three covers and “Blue Wild Angel”.
For the next 10 months the band played many gigs in Thessaloniki and the round areas and also shared the stage with groups such as Blues Wire, Full House and other local groups. During all these months the band was writing its own songs which took more progressive direction. That happened because of the music that we were listening and the ability of our drummer Nick. I was also thinking that it was time to find a singer because my voice is quite limited, so we found Christine. Christine was a girl with passion for music (she was studying music at the university). When she became a member, the group took a big advantage and this is obvious if you listen to our second demo which includes four own compositions.
I believe that our second demo combines all kinds of music we love i.e. Blues, Rock, Progressive, Psychedelic. The recording and our performance were much better so the result is very satisfying.
Some misunderstandings with the drummer and the leave of the bass player who found a teaching job at a remote island made the group break in September of 2006.
